Creative Sales Service

This was one of the first production libraries produced by Pepper Sound. It went on into (at least) the Tanner era in the 70's.
I have 2 records from this series. I will list my records along with a list of the tracks on them, and some comments. You can click on the underlined tracks to hear audio of them!
#5208, 1963(?)

This record had the same problem
a lot of older production library records had, and even TM's
"Producer" had until the very end - the dreaded
"locked-groove" syndrome, where you have to take the
needle off and on to the beginning of the next track. Also, on
most later Tanner records, there is an instrumental version of
the track after the vocal version. Perhaps they didn't have them
yet at this point. There's just 5 1-minute-long tracks on one
side and 5 acapella tracks ranging from 13-24 seconds long on the
other side. This makes for a lot of empty space on the record.

"Here's some food for thought. You'd better give thought to
the food." They may have been going for a little humor, but
at the same time the music and everything sounds deadly serious.
5. Christmas (Toys)

During the "instrumental" part, the male and female
singers "la-la'd" parts of different Christmas songs at
the same time. For the heck of it, I thought I'd compile a list
of all the songs they were "la-la'ing".
MEN:
1. Jingle Bells
2. Joy to the World
3. Winter Wonderland
4. Away in a Manger
5. Some - White Christmas
Others - Deck the Halls
WOMEN:
1. Hark the Herald Angels Sing
2. Rudolph
3. Chestnuts Roasting
4. Silent Night

7. Going Out of Business

Some of the going-out-of-business commercials on these Tanner
records were pretty intersting. I mean, I know they had to make
light jingles, but on the other hand, a business which may have
long-served a community is closing its doors, and they made
jingles like this?

Here is a piece of paper found in the album jacket, probably
written on by someone at the radio station that used this record.
It apparently has the numbers of other Creative Sales records
that have tracks with a back-to-school theme. The number listed
on the bottom looks like it may be from an RCA Thesaurus record
with a Dollar Days Sale track. Click on the picture to see a

5409 - Spot
Starters, 1973

This record consists of short
tracks ranging from 3-15 seconds long. They were so stations
could use them for the beginning of commercials. They seem almost
like micro versions of "Selling Images" like Tanner's
Total Sound and Country libraries had. They even had instrumental
versions following the voice tracks. I am guessing 1973 because
of one telltale thing - the barely-audible beeps. The first cut
on each side didn't have a beep in front of them.
